Description
This is Percy Jackson’s sword. In the film and the book, it was initially a ballpoint pen, but in this version, it’s a riptide sword. The sword is engraved, unlike in the film where it is simply shot out in segments. The blade is made of high-carbon tempered stainless steel. Unfortunately, Fox, the official licenser, does not allow sharpening. The inscription reads 2013 Fox and Museum Replicas.
The sword has a hand-and-a-half grip, and the entire hilt, from the guard to the pommel, is solid metal, making it heavy and sturdy. Crafted from actual prop replicas, it was used on-screen, adding to its authenticity. The mirror-finished blade has a Trident with intricate details.
The sword comes with a synthetic leather cover, and it is a rare collector’s item from 2013, with only a handful created. It’s perfect for fans of movies or books, providing a unique and rare piece.

The Significance of Percy Jackson’s Riptide Sword
Riptide, also known as Anaklusmos in ancient times, is the sword given to Percy Jackson by Chiron. Chiron received it from Poseidon with the instruction to pass it on to Percy later. The sword has a significant history, notably when Zoe Nightshade presented it to Hercules during his quest for the Apples of Hesperides. Unfortunately, Hercules betrayed Zoe after being aided by her, claiming the glory for himself.
The sword, born from the ocean and created by the ancient sea Titan Oceanus, draws its power from the ocean. Chiron mentions that Riptide was forged in the fires of Mount Etna and cooled in the River Lethe. Previously owned and used by Hercules, Zoe, and Pleione, Riptide’s dormant form was originally Zoe’s hair clip. She gave it to Hercules to aid him in battling Ladon.
